Plant and Fungi Foraging Walk including a Foraged Dinner at Peekamoose Restaurant
This event is part of 4th Annual Foraged Food Festival. The week of the Foraged Festival, participating restaurants, bars, and coffee shops (Tendrils) will be serving up food and drink using locally foraged, wild, and in-season produce collected by local foragers and educators. Description: We will start at the Catskill Fungi Mural to gather and talk about foraging ethics and harvesting practices as well as an introduction to mushroom foraging. We will walk the property to learn about different plants and fungi we find and spend time harvesting knot weed, dandelion, and possibly some other wild foods for dinner. As we forage we will talk about culinary and medicinal properties of each plant and mushroom as well as cooking and preservation techniques. We may travel down the road to find some patches of other wild edibles to forage and collect. We will arrive at the Peekamoose restaurant (3/4 Mile down the road) for dinner at 5:30pm where we will be greeted with a foraged cocktail/mock
