Umbrella Tree (Schefflera sp.)

Schefflera have been popular in the houseplant industry for a very long time! They are a classic that many have seen before- and for good reason. These plants are incredibly forgiving, making them a great candidate for beginner and experienced growers alike! Many of the species are native to New Zealand, and some reaching into the Pacific Islands.  Schefflera spp. contain calcium oxalate crystals to combat herbivores. These crystals can cause oral irritation and GI upset in our furry friends, making them not pet safe. Our scaly and amphibious friends, however, have no problem with them! These plants make great additions to tropical enclosures, often being strong enough to hold mature geckos and frogs when allowed to establish in the enclosure before adding the animal.  Plants will be shipped bare root and are suitable for a 4 inch pot.
