Ancient Greek AR Drachma circa 450-400 B.C., This coin is framed in an18Kt yellow gold bezel on Sterling Silver ring with .02tw diamond accents, Obverse: Facing head of Gorgoneion (Medusa) hair rolled. Reverse: anchor, crayfish to left, A to right Dimensions; Top of ring averages 12mm diameter. Ring size 6, can be altered. Apollonia Pontinca (modern day Sozopol) was a Black Sea port and a colony of Miletos which boasted a fine temple of Apollo with a large statue by the sculptor Kalamis. Apollonia Pontica was located in the Gulf of Burgas on the Thracian coast, about 200 miles south of the mouth of the Danube River. It served as an outlet for the grain and timber of the Hebros and Danube valleys.
