A beautifully detailed Celtic cross that is a replica of the Saint Cuthbert's cross with a garnet center in solid sterling silver. Cuthbert (c. 634 – 20 March 687) is a saint of the early Northumbrian church in the Celtic tradition. He was a monk associated with the monasteries of Melrose and Lindisfarne in the Kingdom of Northumbria, in North East England and the South East of Scotland. He became one of the most important medieval saints of Northern England, with a cult centered on his tomb at Durham Cathedral. Cuthbert is regarded as the patron saint of Northern England. Cuthbert grew up near Old Melrose Abbey, a daughter-house of Lindisfarne, today in Scotland. On 17th May 1827, the tomb of Saint Cuthbert was opened and, as well as the saint’s body, rare and extraordinary objects were found.
