Saxophone Quartet sheet music (AATT): Kheak Rumwong - A Circle Dance
Kheak Rumwong – A circle dance for Saxophone Quartet (score+parts) was inspired by Klezmer music. Klezmer is an instrumental musical tradition of the Ashkenazi Jews of Central and Eastern Europe. The essential elements of the tradition include dance tunes, ritual melodies, and virtuosic improvisations played for listening; these would have been played at weddings and other social functions. Mekara was Charmed by its tone colors, harmony and its rhythmic driving. In this piece, he was imagining a circle dance of the people enjoying each other in a gathering at one joyful evening. The work was originally written for the Clarinet Quartet. Saxophone quartet sheet music (AATT) Sax quartet sheet music. Kheak – in Thai means a guest or a foreigner from India or the Middle East.
