From: Meursault, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceVarietal: ChardonnayTasting Notes and Critical Acclaim: BH 91 Burghound.comReduction masks the fruit at present though there is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the slightly bigger and richer medium-bodied flavors that possess a more sophisticated texture while also delivering fine length on the stony bitter lemon-inflected finale that is noticeably more tightly wound. Lovely. Barrel Sample: 89-91 Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy.Pale lemon and lime. More strict than plump, with the typical Fichet note of reduction on the nose. Pairing: This focused, precise, and tension-filled Meursault plays well with dishes like roast chicken or turkey, veal, rabbit in mustard sauce, grilled or sautéed shrimp, white fish like cod or sea bass, and even smoked trout or salmon. Lemony shrimp and bean stew, halibut
