Mudan 'Zi Guan Cheng Xiang or 'The Purple Crown Is Auspicious' has a fine color of medium rose-lavender, an excellent fully-double blossom form at the terminus of every branch. This 8" blossom is stuffed with ruffled petals that leave no room to appreciate any of the disc attributes. USDA Zones 4-8 would be very successful zones for this peony. It can tolerate somewhat warmer areas than most other peonies.
