Available FALL 2024 'Chocolate Soldier' has stunning black-red, highly-variable, Japanese-type flowers. Sometimes blooms will be nearly bomb-like with ruffled staminodes. Single blooms can also occur. The color is unusually rich, saturated, and free from purple suggestion. One of the best 'chocolates'. (Auten, 1939). Heirloom. Zones 4-8 Bare roots are available in LATE-FALL and WINTER only. We do not ship potted peonies.
