'DUCHESSE D'ORLEANS' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'duchesse d'orleans')

Available Fall 2024 'Duchesse d'Orléans' is an heirloom peony cultivar first registered in 1846. The large, fully-double, bomb-type blossoms have deep-pink guard petals that surround rich-salmon petaloids cast with a violet sheen. These medium to large blossoms are held above dense clumps of dark-green foliage to 36" tall. The fragrant flowers, which appear from late-spring into early-summer, make for an excellent cut display.
