Mudan 'Mo Guan Yu Zhu' or 'Black Crown Jade Pearl' sports a very dark purple-red, fully-double blossom clusters at the terminus of every branch. The modest-sized blossoms are stuffed with ruffled petals each with a dark-purple, near-black flare that brings mesmerizing visual depth to the waterlily-type flower. When fully open the stamen can be appreciated for their golden yellow contrast.
