This water represents the protection and prep in veiling and is available in both a spray and an oil. Can be worn in lieu of veiling or used to anoint & spray veilings. Vittae comes in a 2oz spray bottle and is slightly more expensive than our other offerings to reflect its size and the materials used to create it. Often worn by free matrons and women, the vittae was a head piece worn by many in Ancient Rome. It was considered both sacred and ordinary, adorning maidens, married women, and matrons while also serving as a sacred symbol on priests, Vestal priestesses, prophets, and poets. Often made of wool and intertwining the front locks or hair or including laurel and olive, vittae provided a structural base for larger coverings such as the palla or the marital flammeum while also signifying the status of women, holy men and women, and artists.
