Master Yu Zisha Teapot #008
The irregularly shaped zisha teapot is made by Yu, a free potter based in Jingdezhen (check here to learn more about Yu). It completely stands out by the long spout, giving an interesting appearance. It features the smoky red surface, formed with zini (purple-red-brown clay mined from Yixing) primarily and coated with yet refined reddish clay (Hongqingshui ) , making the teapot feel coarse in hand, providing the textural and visual contrast. The overall design and double layers of zisha clay give the teapot a stylish and elegant appearance, allowing it to stand out from the currently overwhelming zisha teapots in the market. Unlike most zisha teapots in China, the teapot has an irregular shape reflecting explicitly yu’s unique craftsmanship and creation, so it is definitely worth joining your collection in your cupboard. The teapot holds approximately 110ml of liquid with a multi-holes ball filter, making it suitable for solo or a small tea session, especially for solo tea brewing. Exp
