Saudade is a genre-bending music collective formed by Chuck Doom (Crosses) and featuring collaborators Chino Moreno (Deftones), Chelsea Wolfe, John Medeski (Medeski, Martin & Wood), David Torn (David Bowie), Dr. Know (Bad Brains), Gil Sharone (Marilyn Manson) and more. Shadows & Light / Sanctuary Dub EP is a double A-side and includes the songs "Shadows & Light" ft. Chelsea Wolfe & Chino Moreno and “Sanctuary Dub” ft Ho99o9, along with the instrumental tracks “Crisis” and “MyGoalsBeyond.” The labyrinth of Saudade’s formation began in the early 80’s with Jaco Pastorius’ mentorship to Doom. Jaco’s premature death occurred during a nine-month period in which Doom suffered the loss of two other profoundly influential people in his life. His loss catapulted him on a 30-year journey throughout the country from South Florida to Woodstock, NY to Los Angeles, and many other places in between where he meet the musicians and friends that would eventually form Saudade.
