1890s English Bobby Match Striker

Whimsical British Bobby antique bisque match strike / pyrogene. In his Victorian era attire, including the distinctive helmet and truncheon, with brilliant blue eyes, and voluminous mustache, this guy exudes charm galore. Matches are stored in the satchel at his feet and struck on the ribbed surface on the back. There is an incised "4185" on the lower back edge, but no maker's marks to date the piece, we believe it to be late 19th / early 20th C.
