Cryptocoryne Balansae

Balansae plant, also known as crypt balansaeBoth novice and seasoned aquarium hobbyists favor balansae plants. This specific crypt makes an aquascape serene because its dark or bright green reed-like leaves gently sway in the water, providing fish with nice hiding places to play in. Long, thin leaves are produced by the plant's short stems, which contrast beautifully with hardscape components. This species is native to Southern Thailand, where it lives in swiftly moving rivers and streams with a lot of limestone. In an environment that is abundant in nitrate, phosphate, iron, CO2, and calcium, balansae plants flourish. It is extremely advised to take a calcium supplement since without it, the plant's leaves may twist and become malformed.Balansae plants require moderate to strong illumination. At least 2-3 watts/gallon of lighting are required to produce the balansae plant's appealing puckering or ruffled leaf look. Additionally, bright illumination may give the leaves a bronze colour.
