RAW KINU SILK + COTTON BODY WASHCLOTH
This net raw silk, known as ami-jō kito (net-structured raw silk), is produced by drawing thread from cocoons using a special method. As a result, it has volume and a distinctive crisp texture. The raw silk used is made entirely in Japan from pure domestically produced silk, utilizing specialized techniques. Because the towel retains sericin—a skin-friendly protein—it has a rougher texture compared to flat-woven silk mitts at first. However, with continued use, it leaves the skin feeling remarkably soft and smooth. It gently removes dirt and provides a refreshing, clean finish. One component of sericin, serine (an amino acid), is a natural protein with properties very similar to our skin’s natural moisturizing factors. Serine offers greater moisturizing power than collagen, helping keep the skin soft and hydrated.
