Yoshi was born in an "Untouchable" village in rural India. His mother often foraged for food in the small patch of forest near their home. To make money they sold buffalo dung cakes that other poor people would use as cooking fuel. There was no school, no jobs and no future for Yoshi there. When a trafficker disguised as an agent from a rock quarry came promising a better life, Yoshi's mother agreed. Yoshi left his village and went to live and work in the rock quarry. The rock quarry provided nothing that the man had promised, and instead, Yoshi was forced to perform backbreaking work in the heat of summer and the cold of winter as a six-year-old boy. Older boys beat him up and stole his food. Supervisors beat him, if anything he did displeased them. Life in the quarry was like waiting for death. One of our field teams, inspected the quarry, and rescued Yoshi and the other children working there. Today, Yoshi lives at The Sylom Children's Home. Our field teams have not located his fami
