Red Chile Chocolate Pecan Pie

The red chile grown in Chimayo, New Mexico has been grown and carefully dried  by the local hispanic and native american farmers for centuries. Because of our proximity to Chimayo we are able to purchase right from the source. The flavor is earthy, fragrant, warming and full of flavor. Chocolate was traditionally mixed with chile and nuts in the growing regions of Tabasco Mexico. The combination is wondrous, heady and almost intoxicating. At the Chocolate Maven it all comes together beautifully in the Chimayo Chile Chocolate Pecan Pie. Sweet, slightly spicy, velvety and delicious.  Heaven in a pie. 9" diameter, serves 6 - 12.
