You Prepare

Green Pastures Collection Artist: Kelly Pelfrey Dimensions: 12" x 12" x 1.5" Medium: Acrylic Surface: Canvas From the artist: My kindergarten class recited Psalm 23 as part of our graduation ceremony.  All of the little girls wore dainty white dresses and held small bouquets of flowers as we marched down the aisle of the Episcopal Church.  Once home, my parents recorded for posterity (with an awesome giant camcorder) me declaring these words.  (Please imagine “my” as “myyyyyy” with the most Southern drawl, longest “i sound” possible).   “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.   He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.   He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.  Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
