"Strawberry" Throw Blanket
“Strawberry” is a reflection of my family's summer tradition of berry picking, in both our garden at home, and at a local U-Pick farm. They're so much sweeter than grocery store strawberries! The white berries are hula berries (they taste a bit like pineapple!) from our garden, but are also meant to look like red berry varieties that are still ripening. The design is also a homage to the Puget Sound region's historical strawberry farming legacy that was led by Japanese Americans until WWII internment. The back is a bird’s eye stitch pattern of all colors on the front: a pale pink beige for the line work in the illustration, lime green background, white flowers with goldenrod centers, and ripening red berries Approximately 50” wide x 60” tall Knitted from 100% super soft cotton with hand-finished edges ——- Designed in the Seattle area by illustrator & surface designer Irene Rex Made in USA from imported cotton (India) Machine wash cold, no bleach, tumble dry low
