A handsome and sturdy evergreen multi-trunked shrub to small tree to 6-8ft tall and 4-5ft wide. Graceful deep green leaves, deeply veined and covered in silvery indumentum on the undersides. Extremely tough and tolerant of most conditions. Clusters flat topped umbels of white flowers in spring followed by decorative red fruit. Good screening plant or garden specimen. Full sun to part shade, even tolerates fairly heavy shade. Drought tolerant when established but best with occasional summer water where dry. USDA zone 7.
