Vacuum Sealing: A Longevity Miracle
I bought my first vacuum sealer from a county fair in 1989. The demonstrator showed how I could save money purchasing large packages of food and breaking them down into family meal size pouches and freezing them. Originally, I was looking to save money on my food purchases for three growing children. My children were fascinated by the invisible forces collapsing the packages around the food. They begged me to to let them make their breakfast, lunch and dinner using the vacuum sealer. In fact they wanted to make all their meals for the week and vacuum seal them. I was speechless because there was no more complaining about what there was to eat. Each child made their own 5 breakfasts, 5 lunches and 5 dinners for the week. Each child wrote their name on the bag before putting them in the freezer or refrigerator in their own tray.On weekends we seasoned and grilled 4 hamburgers, froze them overnight then vacuum sealed them the next day.
