Girafinhas, original

This one enters Clara's new phase, super detailed work, where she spends hours and hours on each piece. She went to visit the zoo with a friend and came back completely in love with giraffes. Look at the eyes of these giraffes! There's something really touching there. So she made this portrait of two giraffes, and then told me, "It's me and you." I have the rainbow tail. I wanted to cry! I suggested the name Girafinhas, little giraffes in Portuguese, and she loved it. I think this artwork doesn't need lots of words; you can feel it. The background is metallic green so it changes tones based on the light. It's beautiful how the people who love us see so much more than we ever see in ourselves.
