Happy Frida, Painting, Acylic on canvas, 2022 (24"x24")

Clara painted "Happy Frida" after she went to the Immersive Experience of Frida in Los Angeles in April 2022. The immersive experience, from our point of view, was not so good. Clara said that the exhibition was dark and sad. However, she was thrilled to be there and walk around some of Frida's artworks. As you probably know, Frida is Clara's muse. Frida is the one that inspired Clara to be a painter, and that motivated Clara to ask to do her first exhibition. During the last few years, Frida has been a constant presence in our family, mainly like an aunt that lives far from us! Clara portrayed a happy Frida, with emojis around her. She also copied the name of Frida, but in the first version of the painting, it was written: Frida Kahlo. We found this "mistake" lovely, but Clara wanted to correct it immediately when we shared it with her.
