We kept back a select number of light grey skeins of Shetland 1.0 for overdyeing, eager to see how the introduction of color would play with the existing shade of the fibers. I sent a small number of skeins to Chris Roosien of Briar Rose Fibers. The only words I gave her? "Grape jelly." She smiled and said, "I know exactly what you want!" And she did. This rich, mouth-puckeringly delicious shade of purple is the results. Chris hand-dyed these skeins in Michigan before returning them to Pepperell Mill Campus in Biddeford, Maine, where they were tagged and shipped to you. Quick Facts Gauge: A lofty woolen-spun two-ply yarn, Shetland 1.0 produces lovely fabric in a range of needle sizes and gauges between worsted, DK, and sport, making swatching essential.
