This is a new brass retainer ring used on the bottom of many Coleman valve stems. This is designed for a 1/4” Stem diameter, can be cut for the smaller 3/16 version if needed. You will need to open it up place it over the valve stem, then bend it back. This is used to hold the place in front The valve stem packing.
