Lovely 8.5 x 11-inch black and white portrait on a page taken from a film book, boldly signed in blue felt-tip marker in her later years. In good condition, with a few minor crinkles, and charming for framing and display. German-born leading lady Marlene Dietrich was discovered while performing in a cabaret act in the 1920s and cast in increasingly important silent films through the end of the decade. In 1930, she starred as Lola Lola in Josef von Sternberg's The Blue Angel and, exploding into a heated love affair with the director, relocated to Hollywood, where he cast her in Morocco (1930), for which she earned an Oscar nod.
