Oda al Grabado 2

Before I became a ceramicist, I considered myself a printmaker. In college it was love at first sight/hands-on. This series celebrates that time and enables me to create free from any particular idea or meaning. It is almost an exercise to relax the mind, to liberate it from any noise. The marks on the clay are very similar to marks made on the etching, linoleum and wood carvings. Those years of printmaking training have informed my work on clay deeply. These pieces are small scale sketches of large scale works.
