Leña nueva
Leña Nueva” – A Cry for Spiritual Revival The phrase “leña nueva” (new firewood) is a powerful metaphor for spiritual renewal and fresh fire from God. Just as new wood rekindles a dying flame, “leña nueva” represents a heart set ablaze again with passion for the Lord. It's often used in prayerful cries for sanctification and cleansing, echoing Psalm 51:10:"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” This imagery calls believers to seek a continual fire of the Holy Spirit— not one that burns out, but one that is fed daily with repentance, worship, and surrender. As Scripture reminds us: “Do not quench the Spirit.” —1 Thessalonians 5:19 & “Our God is a consuming fire.” —Hebrews 12:29 So when you hear “leña nueva,” think of revival, renewal, and the desire to burn once more with holy passion — like the flames of Pentecost (Acts 2:3–4).
