About Henri-Edmond Cross (1856-1910) was a French painter and one of the leading members of the Neo-Impressionist movement. He was born in Douai, France, and initially trained as a ceramicist before turning his attention to painting. This technique was pioneered by Georges Seurat and other Neo-Impressionist painters, but Cross developed his own distinctive style within this movement.
