Maker: Fender Model: 62 Reissue Stratocaster MIJ Fotoflame Condition: Excellent   Description: Here we have a 1993/94 Fender MIJ 62 Reissue Stratocaster in Blue (slightly faded over time to a blue-ish gray) Foto Flame finish. This guitar is in great shape with only a few very minor scratches and dings, but none that penetrate the finish of the body/neck. The guitar is set up well and plays excellent. The neck and frets are in great condition with beautiful figuring on the neck and plenty of life left in the frets. MIJ Fenders of this era are regarded as incredibly well made instruments and this one is no exception.  The “Foto Flame” series was a short-lived, inexpensive attempt by Fender to compete with a growing “flame top” market such as PRS and Dean guitars. The Foto Flame guitars, with the flame on top, usually have a Basswood cap on Alder or, in the case of the Foto Flame being on front and back, the whole body can be made of Basswood.
