Georgian Silhouette Painting Necklace

A Georgian work of art to wear! This incredible silhouette portrait was painted by Charles Rosenberg (1745-1844). Housed in domed glass and a rosy gold locket with plaited hair and the initials “JMG” on the back. Our gentleman here is wearing a coat, cravat and pigtail wig - a stylish look for the time. This locket is a wonderfully large shape and delivers on the drama. Most likely created as a piece of mourning jewelry - exquisitely personal and sentimental.
