Zorzal Cacao is an project of Reserva Zorzal -- a 1,019-acre private bird sanctuary and 130-acre cacao farm in the northern mountains of the Dominican Republic. Reserva Zorzal keeps 70% of this land in its wild state in order to reduce climate change. It has joined with 13 other landowners in a carbon-offset project, and is a model for the integration of conservation and sustainable agroforestry development.
