St. John's Wort
St. John's Wort has been traditionally used and studies have shown that it may be (darn) good for relaxation, to de-stress, soothing depression, a nervous system tonic, so when you suffer from nerve (like sciatica) or muscle pain, this helps. It also improves mood and enhances cheer…and who doesn’t want that! For ailments (like eczema) that may be caused by stress, this tea is for you! Drink up to 2-3 cups throughout the day and let the sun shine in!! The flavor is slightly ‘barky,’ not that I go around licking trees…but that’s the best way I can describe it! Here's a yummy recipe: Bring water to a boil (turn off stove), add 2 teaspoons of St. John’s Wort and cover, so that the tea releases it’s full potential! Steep for 10 minutes for a milder-tasting and less bitter infusion. For a more effective medicinal ‘brew’, steep for 30 minutes. Strain, add honey, vanilla and dust with cinnamon. Ahhh. This herb also blends well with: chamomile and lavender to help calm your spirit
