The French-designed Nieuport 28 is regarded as the first operational fighter aircraft to see service with the United States military.  This display includes a very rare 1 x 5-inch cross section of spruce wing strut from a Nieuport 28 that served operationally with the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) during World War I before being transported Stateside post-war. This aircraft later starred in Howard Hughes's Hollywood film Hell's Angeles. It was then a part of The Jarrett Museum of World War History and gifted to noted collector Robert Boehme in 1956. Display size is 11x17-inches. Signed and numbered.   //
