Here's the simple tool necessary to remove the auto advance unit before you can remove the timing cover on all Norton Commando. Thread it into the end of the advance unit. We do not recommend using this to remove rocker spindle shafts. There is a special heavy duty tool for that job, as the spindles are usually stuck tightly in the cylinder head.
