GE Fanuc IC670GBI002 Bus Interface Unit (BUI)

The GE IC670GBI002 is a Bus Interface Unit (BUI) that forms part of the Field Control system. It serves as the header module of each Field I/O system, managing the interface between the master PLC or computer and the Genius Bus. It can exchange 128 bytes of input and 128 bytes of output data. This unit supports up to eight Field Control I/O modules.The IC670GBI002 supports various communication protocols, ensuring seamless integration. It also supports Hot Standby CPU configuration. The unit requires an external supply voltage ranging from 18-30 VDC, with a nominal value of 24 VDC.The IC670GBI002 performs diagnostic checks on itself and its I/O modules. It relays diagnostic information to the host and to a Hand-held Monitor. It can be used on a bus controlled by redundant CPUs or Bus Controllers, and on a dual bus.The IC670GBI002 finds extensive use in industrial automation and control systems. It mounts on a Bus Interface Unit Terminal Block. The unit can be removed and replaced if necessary without removing the wiring or re-configuring the I/O station.
