La Gritona Reposado 375mL

This tequila is made by Melly Cardenas, one of the few female distillers in tequila country in El Valle de Guadalupe, and her mostly-female team. Gritona is made according to traditional methods, using perfectly ripened select highland agave plants. The harvested plants are slow-cooked in brick ovens and then left to naturally ferment with ambient yeasts before being double distilled in small pot stills. The spirit is then aged for 8 months in old American oak barrels. Complex and brooding in character the spirit gives off notes of caramelized fruit, ginger, and pepper.
