Serengeti Plaines, Tanzania Africa I spent 3 weeks scouring the Serengeti plains in Tanzania pursuing any glimpse of an African Elephant. Finally, after four hours searching in the rain, we spotted a herd off in the distance.  But as we drove toward the Elephants the rain intensified and the ground softened. We quickly found ourselves stuck, unable to move, in a muddy hole. Luckily, the herd was moving toward us, eventually passing so close that we were allowed an incredible once in a lifetime view. They continued on their journey but not before the Matriarch of the herd bluff charged the vehicle giving us all a final shot of adrenaline.
