Model 27: Old 3S

3/4" diameter with medium-long taper, 17" length, oval bead. Choose from "First Quality" pairs or "Outlier" pairs. #27 Old 3S is one of our heaviest models, designed for punch with strong projection. The long taper is more pronounced that the #26 Guardsman and #25 Parade models, emphasizing fast response and articulation. The bead is oval, for rich tone across the entire high, mid, and low range. Made in American hickory. Our “First Quality” pairs are fully matched for weight and pitch. Our "Outliers" are our first quality sticks matched up with a bit more leeway for pitch and weight than we use for full price pairs. The weight can be an actual match or within a few grams, while the pitch is matched for some gradations within low/medium/high.
