Rope Slides, Polished and Unpolished, for Counterhoops
These small brass "slides" fit over your counterhoop atop each rope hole, protecting the hoop and its finish from damage caused by the rope as it passes at high tension over the edge of the counterhoop. These are most often used on British style regimental drums. Optimal rope size is 1/4" (0.635 cm), although 5/16" (0.79 cm) will work as well. Optimal thickness of the hoop is 3/8" (0.953 cm) or less (the hardware is mounted with a small nail, which is included). Overall length at the top of the piece is 1" (2.54 cm). These rope slides are sold "each". The unpolished slides are the most economical choice, since each drum typically requires 16 to 20 slides. You can polish these with household brass polish to a matte finish. We also offer the slides polished to a shine and lacquered, although not completely free of imperfections in the finish. Nails are included.
