Stereoview card (3D) - 7" x 3.5" (Holmes format) As visitors set their sights on Cavern Cascade, they blur past the camera lens but two figures stand out as they pause to chat. The trail is not a race and I especially like finding people sitting with a friend and really taking in the scenery. The Watkins Glen Gorge contains several trails and bridges that wind their way from serene to sublime natural views. Watkins Glen State Park can be found nestled in the Finger Lakes on the southern end of Seneca Lake. It's just over a mile as the crow flies but the zig zagging trail and changes of elevation result in a much longer hike if one wishes to get the complete experience. With such extraordinary splendor, the Gorge was the subject of some of the earliest stereo photographs made in the Americas.
