The young Chianti is bright ruby red in colour and has an intense, fruity and round bouquet. On the palate, the wine is dry, pleasantly tannic and velvety with age. Pairs well with: grilled and stewed meats, roasted fatty fish, medium-ripened cheeses Grapes: 80% Sangiovese, 10%Canaiolo, 10%Colorino Chianti Montalbano is one of the seven subzones of Chianti, covering the chain of hills west of Florence. Sangiovese-based wines fall under the iconic DOCG and must be at least 70 percent Sangiovese, a traditional Tuscan grape variety.
