Interesting info about this watch:  Although sadly no longer in existence, Elgin (and its various spin-off brands such as Lord Elgin) was one of the premier 20th century American watchmakers. Like other American brands of the era, Elgin sourced its parts largely from Switzerland and other European countries. This model has a very high-quality German case and a movement from Switzerland. The movement’s finishing is gorgeous – a classic example of the unique American style of movement decoration.
