Crushed Olives, Enduring Light This resource invites us to practice prayer, especially during seasons that may feel crushing. Through these devotionals, we will know more about men and women of the Bible whose lives were transformed in a purification process when they were crushed through the press of life’s difficult situations such as loneliness, abandonment, disease, injustice, and betrayal, when only faith was able to take them forward. It is the pure oil from crushed olives that keeps the lamps lit. For believers in Christ, it is the oil, the Holy Spirit that takes us forward, keeping our spirit, our faith lit to obey in love and do God’s will and not on our own.  The Week of Prayer can be used by individuals or groups, throughout one week or over the course of seven weeks.
