Venice Canal B&W

I'd wanted to go to Venice my whole life. I'd seen my paintings of it, and always wanted to capture it myself. This scene was pretty close to what I'd had in mind, from the charming narrow canals to this traditional gondola. I spent some years as a child living in Nice, in the south of France. Nice was went back and forth for 100s of years, trading hands back and forth from Italy to France, finally settling in France. The medieval architecture in both Nice and Venice are strikingly similar except there are no streets in Venice, only water canals!
