Venice Gondola Vertical

  I was on my way to dinner one evening on one of the last of my 4 days in Venice. I was accompanied by a close friend of mine from Vienna, Austria. We'd been walking and shooting all day, in the mid summer and we were exhausted. I'd put my camera down for the day and was looking for a delicious place to eat. She spotted this scene coming around a corner and immediately insisted I take the shot. I declined. I was wiped out from the day's adventures, starving and looking forward to a delicious italian dinner. But when I saw the scene she was pointing at, I knew I had to take it. I didn't even bother to set up my tripod, I shot handheld, which is very unusual for me. I loved the colors so much it didn't end up mattering!
