Moonstone Palm Stone

Moonstone is part of the mineral family of feldspars. It's an opalescent stone that can be found in colorless white form as well as peach, pink, green, gray, yellow, brown, and blue. The play of light seen in Moonstone is called adularescence, and its clarity ranges from transparent to opaque. Ancient Hindu lore held that Moonstone held trapped moonbeams. In ancient Rome, it was thought that Moonstone received its pearly luster from the stored light of the Moon. The ancient Greeks combined the names of the Moon goddess, Selene, and the love goddess, Aphrodite, and called this crystal Aphroselene.  Moonstone became known as the “Traveler’s Stone” due to travelers’ belief that Moonstone would protect them and help light their path. *It is said that moonstone  is a stone for “new beginnings”, Moonstone is a stone of inner growth and strength
