I made this artwork for my youngest child after they came out this spring. Elo has grow up with many friends and family members who are in the LGBTQIA+ community.  That’s probably why when Elo came out to us it was as we were walking home from school with a simple share, “Mom, I want to tell you something…I am gay.”  It was a simple statement of fact.  Elo had no doubt they would be loved and supported in their family because we have always loved and supported our LGBTQIA+ friends and family, but the sad fact is there are many who are not so supported.  And even those who are supported at home can face intolerance and hate
