Sora the Manananggal
Sora the Manananggal was regarded highly by her village, protecting them from outsiders. But they were torn when she was found to be a manananggal. Her coffin is decorated similarly to Manunggal Jars (burial jars), but without two figures on the boat, as they believed she had no soul. The coffin can be separated and re-attached by sliding the top and bottom pieces together. Display Sora in a full coffin (while still keeping her famous split visible), or separate the coffin boxes to really show off her lore. One of the most famous aswang (monster) of the Philippines, the Manananggal is a flying, self-segmenting creature. At night, she separates from her bottom half to find her next meal consisting of fetuses, blood, or different human organs. The only way to kill her is by finding her lower half, usually hidden in the woods or in banana forests, and sprinkle salt, garlic, or ash on the exposed flesh to prevent her from reattaching.
